Sketch Club began life as a fringe cabaret show in 2002. In 2003, it was taken over by writer/performers Georgina Sowerby & Brian Luff and the format changed into a sketch and character comedy showcase for new writers and performers.
In its new incarnation, Sketch Club ran until 2007, during which time many of the gig’s regular acts made the transition from small fringe stage to network television, including award-winning double act Colin & Fergus (pictured), British Comedy Award winners Cardinal Burns, Ed Weeks, star of Fox’s hit sitcom The Mindy Project, Perrier Award winner Laura Solon, Badults creators Pappy’s and surreal stand-up Joe Wilkinson.
From 2013 to 2015 Sketch Club ran Best New Sketch Act in association with Edinburgh Fringe venue The Gilded Balloon.
This Autumn Sketch Club returns to the London circuit with Best of Sketch Comedy 2017, a mouth-watering season of big-hitting comedy talent, hot from the Edinburgh Fringe.
