About

Sketch Club’s 2013 winners Stapleface.

In association with Think Funny, Sketch Club runs advanced courses for comedy writers and performers.

Originally established in 2002, Sketch Club began life as a fringe cabaret show. In 2003, it was taken over by Georgina Sowerby & Brian Luff and the format changed into a sketch and character comedy showcase for new writers and performers.

From 2013 to 2015 Sketch Club ran the “So You Think That’s Funny” Best New Sketch Act competition, with 6 heats in London and the final held at The Gilded Balloon in Edinburgh during the Festival Fringe.

Over the years, Sketch Club’s showcase gigs have featured many well-known performers including British Comedy Award winners Cardinal Burns, Ed Weeks, (star of Fox’s hit sitcom The Mindy Project), Perrier Award winner Laura Solon, Badults creators Pappy’s, Writer’s Guild Award winner Colin Hoult, TV presenter Rick Edwards and hilarious stand-up comedian Joe Wilkinson.
